Anna Pietilä is a scenographer and architect from Finland. Pietilä is particularly interested in the intersection of spatial art, urban planning, and performance. Pietilä’s scenographic works manifest revealing structures and use of recycled materials to create visually and conceptually spectacular pieces.
Pietilä graduated from the Theatre Academy in spring 2026. In her thesis, she reflects on observing social stages as part of a scenographer’s work. She completed her exchange studies at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin, on the Experimental Play programme. Having graduated as an architect from the University of Oulu in 2018 Pietilä worked in architecture education as a teacher and workshop facilitator.
Pietilä has designed sets and installations for various events and venues, including the Frozen People Festival, Turku New Performance Biennale, Q-Theatre, Forum Box gallery, Studio Pasila Stage for Contemporary Performance and Cirko. Pietilä also designs costumes for performances.
