Installation
Fleshwork is an installation that explores the boundary between the organic and the inert, nature and constructed structures. Ice forms suspended from metal chains within a wooden frame reference both stalactite formations and architectures associated with meat processing. Animal blood frozen within the ice and illuminated ice cause the material to glow, evoking associations with bodily tissue. The work is sensitive to its environment: as temperatures shift, the ice melts and the installation transforms over time.
